However I am not going to be recreating the Arkham Asylum from the game, but will certainly be incorporating large chunks of it into my design. I think everybody has their own mental image of Arkham.

Actually, after this (which will be some time away, I anticipate this scale of model taking most of the year) I am considering doing some famous locations from around Gotham City such as the Iceberg Lounge, Ace Chemicals and of course the Batcave and Wayne Manor, which I may well blog here, but that is a long time in the future, so need to worry about that at the moment.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07608978555753391049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-582960214377979594.post-75749768221763054102013-01-27T13:51:10.212+00:002013-01-27T13:51:10.212+00:00Well, now that I think of it, the game did have a ...Well, now that I think of it, the game did have a small dock... So maybe you could make stairs running down along the rocks and have a dock and a boat right at the bottom of the MOC. And to complete the feel of an island, you could have a small portion of water surrounding it.

Other than that, I can only think of the graveyard I mentioned earlier. And there were the ruins of an old building in the game, but I don't really think they're too important.

After you have completed this one, a next little project you could do is the whole of Arkham City ;)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13825801650802473365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-582960214377979594.post-63504093164246670972013-01-27T13:27:13.472+00:002013-01-27T13:27:13.472+00:00I mean can you think of any important parts from t...I mean can you think of any important parts from the game which might be a good inclusion? Killer Croc's lair is a good one, in the sewers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07608978555753391049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-582960214377979594.post-89498005515847836082013-01-27T13:06:14.160+00:002013-01-27T13:06:14.160+00:00What do you mean by "missed out"? It was just one of the possibilities which comes to my mind when I think about Arkham Asylum.

The cliffs will be totally irregular, and there will likely be stacks and ledges all around the cliffs and in the water. I have no idea what shape they will actually end up being, probably nothing like cylindrical in the end, in order to fit in all that I want (the sewers, Bane's cell and the Batcave at the very least).

Assuming you have played the game, can you think of anything I have missed out?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07608978555753391049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-582960214377979594.post-80447060774560466382013-01-27T12:41:39.486+00:002013-01-27T12:41:39.486+00:00Since I already shared most of my general ideas on...Since I already shared most of my general ideas on the fourth sketch, I'm just going to talk mostly about the stuff I like (or dislike) in these other sketches.

I'll start with the building itself; I do think it is indeed to symmetrical. At least it's definitely too castle-like. But if it was a bit like a Gothic cathedral, which generally are quite symmetric, it could work.

I don't think there should a lot of trees on the island, just a few here and there. The focus should more on vines and such, I think. A dirt track is a good idea.

The outcrops are nice a idea because they'd add some variety and dimensions to the rock wall. It would be cool to also have a ledge on the rock face that leads in to the Batcave, just like in the game.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13825801650802473365noreply@blogger.com
